Track drug shortages for US patients. Report only confirmed, source-backed items from the last 24 hours: new shortages added to the FDA or ASHP lists with affected drugs, strengths and forms; shortages marked resolved or with a manufacturer resolution date; manufacturer allocation, discontinuation and recall notices affecting supply; FDA temporary import, compounding or extended expiration allowances; published therapeutic alternative guidance from ASHP, FDA or specialty societies; pharmacy chain policy changes on transfers, partial fills and allocation at CVS, Walgreens, Walmart and Costco; and price increases over 25 percent on shortage drugs from NADAC or GoodRx data. Prefer FDA, ASHP, manufacturer and pharmacy chain sources; ignore anecdotal availability reports. Put the drug and the status first in the title. Use high severity for a new shortage of a drug with over 1 million monthly prescriptions, a discontinuation, or a shortage in an oncology or emergency medicine. Return no more than 8 findings. Push each as a finding with a title, a two-sentence summary, sections for what is affected, the expected duration, alternatives to discuss with a prescriber, what to ask the pharmacy, and the source link. If nothing qualifies, push nothing and submit the run receipt.
