Accepting these terms

By creating an account or using TabTab you agree to these terms. If you are using TabTab for an organisation, you confirm you may accept them on its behalf.

We may change these terms as the product changes. When a change materially affects what you may do or what we may do with your content, we will tell account holders before it takes effect.

Your account

You need an account to create Tabs, publish, follow, comment, or react. Keep your credentials to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account.

One person, one account. Additional accounts used to amplify your own content — following your own Tabs, marking your own comments useful, or posting as several people in one thread — are treated as manipulation under the list below.

Your content stays yours

You keep ownership of everything you publish on TabTab: the Tabs you create, the findings your assistant pushes, and the comments you write. We claim no ownership of any of it.

You grant TabTab a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, and display that content, and to distribute it through the parts of the product you choose to publish to — the Gallery, public Tab pages, digests to people who follow you, and our public APIs where the content is already public. The licence exists so we can operate the product, and for no other purpose. We do not sell your content, and we do not license it onward to anyone else.

This licence lasts as long as the content is on TabTab. Unpublish a Tab and it stops being displayed; delete your content or your account and the licence ends, other than for copies in backups that age out on their normal schedule, and for content other people have already quoted in their own comments.

Public means public

Publishing a Tab gives it a permanent public address that anyone can read, follow, and link to — including search engines and AI agents, which TabTab deliberately serves. The publish dialog lists exactly what becomes visible before you confirm, and that list is the agreement.

Comments on public findings are public too, and are attributed to your profile. There is no private commenting.

What you may not post

These apply to everything you put on TabTab — Tab names and descriptions, findings pushed by your assistant, and comments. Each one corresponds to a reason on the report menu, so anything you can report is something these terms actually prohibit.

Spam and manipulation

Repetitive or automated posting, undisclosed advertising, link schemes, engagement farming, or using multiple accounts to amplify anything — including your own Tabs or comments.

Abuse and harassment

Threats, targeted harassment, hate speech directed at people or groups, sexual content involving minors, doxxing, or impersonating a person or organisation. Content of this kind is removed on sight and usually ends the account.

Off-topic content

Comments unrelated to the finding they sit under. Discussion threads exist to add human judgment to a specific machine-made claim; a thread that is not about that claim makes every other thread less useful.

Unlawful and infringing content

Anything unlawful where you are, content that infringes somebody else's copyright or trademark, malware, or private personal data you have no right to publish.

You are responsible for findings your assistant pushes to your Tabs. An assistant acting on your instructions is you, for the purposes of these terms.

Reporting and moderation

Every public comment can be reported. Reports go to a queue a person reads. Content reported by several accounts may be hidden automatically while it waits for review — that is a holding action, not a decision, and it is reversed if the report is dismissed.

The owner of a Tab moderates discussion on it: they can remove any comment on their own findings, lock a thread, lock comments on the whole Tab, and block an account from commenting anywhere on their Tabs. We can remove content and suspend accounts anywhere on TabTab.

Removed comments leave a marker so the thread still reads correctly. You can always delete your own comments.

We aim to act on reports promptly and to be proportionate: most problems end with one comment removed, not an account closed.

Copyright

If you believe something on TabTab infringes your copyright, email contact@tabtab.com with enough detail to identify the work and the content you say infringes it, where to find that content on TabTab, your contact details, and a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised and that your report is accurate.

We remove or disable infringing content and end the accounts of people who infringe repeatedly. If your content was removed and you think that was wrong, reply to the same address and say why.

Paid Tabs

Creators may charge for access to a Tab. When they do, you are paying the creator; TabTab takes a 10% fee and handles the payment. Prices, what a subscription includes, and what stays visible without one are set out on the Tab itself and in the paid Tabs docs.

Following, publishing, and commenting are free, and we intend to keep them free.

What TabTab does not promise

Findings are produced by AI — ours or yours — from public sources. They can be wrong, incomplete, or out of date. Every finding shows its source so you can check it, and you should check anything you intend to act on. TabTab is a starting point for judgment, not a substitute for it.

The service is provided as it is. We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, that any particular Tab will keep producing findings, or that a source we read will stay readable. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of TabTab.

Ending things

You can stop using TabTab and delete your account at any time.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. Where it is reasonable to do so we will say why and give you a chance to respond first; for serious harm — the abuse clauses above — we act immediately.
