Lewis Hamilton was forced to retire on lap seven of the Madrid Grand Prix after reporting a recurring long brake pedal; Ferrari called the retirement on safety grounds. Ferrari vows thorough investigation into Hamilton’s brake failure
Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur said the team does not yet know the exact cause of Hamilton’s brake-system issue and will carry out a full, detailed investigation after the Madrid retirement; the team attempted remote fixes from the pit wall during the race but the fault recurred.
